Not Just Pretty — What Makes a Product Worth Sharing

Every week, we see dozens — sometimes hundreds — of products.
Some are trending. Some are everywhere. Some look amazing.
And yet, only a few make it onto Maktone.

1. We use what we recommend

We’ll share interesting finds from time to time — things that made us smile, or sparked a little curiosity — but that doesn’t mean we’ll sell them.

Selling a product means something more.
It means we’ve actually used it, like a demanding, picky user — not just looked at it or watched a demo.

We leave the testing to the tech reviewers.
We care more about how it feels to live with.

We’re not product reviewers. We’re picky users.
Every product we carry has been in someone’s daily life — sometimes for weeks, sometimes for years.

If no one on our team genuinely likes it, it doesn’t go up.

2. If it’s everywhere, it’s not for here

We don’t believe in chasing trends.
You can already find the “top sellers” and “most liked” items on every other site — powered by the same algorithms.

What we look for is originality, quality, and quiet usefulness.
Things that make you say, “Where did you find that?”

3. We like things that last

Good design isn’t just visual. It’s emotional.
We want items that feel better the more you use them.
That don’t break in six months.
That don’t get replaced in a week by a “smarter” version.

Sometimes it’s a tiny thing — a soft hinge, a satisfying click, a fabric that ages well.
That’s what makes us want to share it.

The joy of thoughtful things

Maktone isn’t about hype.
It’s about attention.
The attention we give to the things we bring into our lives — and the people we share them with.

We don’t just curate things that work.
We curate things that matter.
